We hereby inform you that the new firmware version V1.10.000 has been released for the WALL IE.

The new firmware contains the following enhancements and improvements:
✔ Feature: FTP Helper (Bridge Mode)
FTP can work in bridge mode with dynamic ports (“Active FTP”). This means that the connection is established via the usual FTP ports 21,22, but then another port is used for further communication (session port). Since you do not know the port beforehand, you can’t actually set a fixed filter rule for it in WALL IE. Starting from firmware V1.10 WALL IE listens to the communication and can activate a rule for the port of the FTP session itself.
An implementation of the FTP helper for the NAT mode will follow with one of the next FW versions.
✔ Feature: DNS server on the LAN side
WALL IE can now act as a DNS server to devices on the LAN. WALL IE then forwards the DNS queries to the DNS server on the WAN (or on the Internet) and returns the responses to the devices on the LAN.
✔ Feature: ICMP can be enabled rule-based
ICMP telegrams (e.g. ping, traceroute, etc.) can now not only be enabled globally, but alternatively only selectively for certain devices in the LAN.
✔ Feature: DCP requests are passed through from WAN to LAN
DCP requests in the WAN directed to LAN devices are now also passed through to enable access from e.g. a TIA portal in the WAN to PROFINET devices in the LAN. This is about locating and configuring PROFINET devices.
✔ Fix: minor bugfixes

Note: The configuration of the WALL IE is retained during an update.
