The latest RevPi Connect generation, equipped with the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5, has been given a significant performance boost. The quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor with 2.4 GHz and up to 8 GB DDR4X RAM enables use in completely new industrial application areas.
Flexibility meets performance: with its modular design and integrated interfaces, the RevPi Connect 5 combines the functions of an industrial PC, an industrial controller, an edge device and an IIoT gateway – and can also perform these tasks in parallel thanks to its performance. Like its predecessor models, the RevPi Connect 5 also consists of robust 24 V industrial hardware and was developed in accordance with the EN 61131-2 standard.

Modular and flexible

Flexibly expandable with inputs, outputs and gateways. Up to ten expansion modules can be connected to the two PiBridge interfaces at the top.

Gigabit Ethernet

Two Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 connections ensure fast data transmission and low latency times.

CAN FD

The RevPi Connect 5 has up to two CAN FD interfaces as an option.

WLAN & Bluetooth

The device has optional WLAN or Bluetooth connectivity. An external antenna can be connected via the SMA socket for optimum reception.

USB 3.2

Two USB-A sockets with USB 3.2 Gen 1 allow a transfer speed of 5 Gbps.

Powered by Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5

The Raspberry Pi Compute Modules are so-called System on Modules (SoM) and have been developed specifically for use in industrial environments since 2015. The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 used in the RevPi Connect 5 is the latest version of the Compute Module, which was introduced at the end of November 2024.

Develop applications with your favorite tools on our open Linux operating system based on Raspberry Pi OS, optimized for industrial use:

  • Based on well-maintained Raspberry Pi OS
  • Real-time patch for industrial applications
  • Regular security updates
  • Docker container support
  • Customized images possible

Process image & PiCtory

Configure your device without programming with PiCtory, our free configuration software. Set up I/Os, fieldbuses and industrial protocols via an intuitive interface. PLC developers know this: unlike the Raspberry Pi with GPIOs, in the process image all connected sensors, actuators and protocols store their status data in a central memory image – which can be accessed by any software, whether Python, Node-RED or CODESYS or all at the same time.

  • No additional costs, no manual integration required
  • Configure sensors and actuators
  • Integrate Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET, PROFIBUS and EtherNet/IP
  • Establish cloud communication via OPC-UA and MQTT
  • Pre-installed on your RevPi

Programming with Python

Open-source Python library RevPiModIo gives you complete freedom to program the Revolution Pi in your preferred style. Choose between event-driven programming, Arduino-style coding or industrial real-time cycles. This comprehensive Python library gives you full control over all the Revolution Pi’s functions while ensuring industrial-grade reliability – available for free and well documented.

Programming with CODESYS

Use the Revolution Pi as a fully-fledged soft PLC with CODESYS. Use familiar IEC 61131-3 programming languages such as Structured Text (ST), Ladder Diagram (LD), Function Block Diagram (FBD) and Sequential Function Chart (SFC) to develop sophisticated automation solutions. Similar to TIA Portal, but more flexible and open. Create professional HMIs with CODESYS WebVisu. The integrated development environment offers functions such as debugging, online monitoring and version control. Thanks to our real-time Linux kernel, the Revolution Pi offers deterministic performance for critical control tasks. Combine classic PLC programming with modern IT capabilities such as Python scripting, Docker containers and cloud connectivity. This is where the reliability of a PLC meets the flexibility of Linux.

Node-RED

Create powerful automation and IIoT applications with intuitive, flow-based programming on the open source Node-RED platform. Perfect for data processing, protocol conversion and dashboard creation. With Node-RED, you can do in minutes what other software takes weeks to do. Our collection of RevPi nodes enables lightning-fast access to industrial I/Os and fieldbuses. As an open source tool, it is free to use and is supported by a large industrial community.
